Lakeshore offers the Radiography program in cooperation with Nicolet College and Gateway Technical College. All core Radiography classes are offered in a traditional setting at Lakeshore and use Interactive Computer Conferencing (distant education) to link the instruction to Nicolet College and Gateway Technical College.

Accreditation

The Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) promotes excellence in education and elevates quality and safety of patient care through the accreditation of educational programs in radiography. The program has an 8-year accreditation with the next review date in First Quarter of 2026.

*Lakeshore College’s Radiography program prepares students to obtain the required licensure to be employed/practice in the state of Wisconsin. The College does not guarantee its curriculum matches the requirements for preparation, examination, or licensure for other states.

POTENTIAL JOB TITLES

Operate Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scanners. Monitor patient safety and comfort, and view images of area being scanned to ensure quality of pictures. May administer gadolinium contrast dosage intravenously. May interview patient, explain MRI procedures, and position patient on examining table. May enter into the computer data such as patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation specified, and position of entry.

 

Take x-rays and CAT scans or administer nonradioactive materials into patient’s bloodstream for diagnostic or research purposes. Includes radiologic technologists and technicians who specialize in other scanning modalities.

Radiography classes are offered during the day. Monday through Friday. The clinical portion of the program begins in January to include evenings, weekends, and summer hours.


Lakeshore offers the Radiography program in cooperation with Nicolet College and Gateway Technical College. All core Radiography classes are offered in a traditional setting at Lakeshore, Nicolet College and Gateway technical college using interactive computer conferencing to provide collaborative learning.
