Apply for Financial Aid

We want to share an update regarding financial aid. The 2025 - 2026 FAFSA application will be available in December 2024 NOT October 1, 2024. If you have already completed your 2024-2025 FAFSA, you should have received your award letter in your Lakeshore email. If you expected to receive financial aid and have not received your award letter, please contact financial.aid@gotoltc.edu. You can check the status of your FAFSA by clicking the link https://studentaid.gov/help/check-fafsa-status.

If you have not completed your 2024 – 2025 FAFSA, your first step is to apply today by clicking on the FAFSA Application tile located in the quick link section of this page. 

By completing the FAFSA, you may be eligible for one or more of the following:   

  • Grants – no need to pay them back.
  • Scholarships – no need to pay them back.
  • Work study 
  • Direct loans – need to be paid back once you are done with college.

Lakeshore offers financial aid to those who qualify. Financial aid includes federal grants, work-study, and loans as well as state grants. To determine eligibility, students must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

To complete the FAFSA, you will need:

  1. Your social security number
  2. Your alien registration number (if you are not a U.S. Citizen)
  3. You will need to agree to the ISRS data retrieval tool which will populate your tax information from the IRS
  4. Records of untaxed income
  5. A federal student aid ID (FSA ID) to sign electronically
  6. Lakeshore’s school code: 009194

The first step to finding out if you are eligible to receive financial aid is to fill out the FAFSA. Once you complete the FAFSA, you will receive notification of your potential financial aid award.

What’s next? 

The federal processing center will do an initial review of your FAFSA and then send it to Lakeshore. After the Lakeshore Financial Aid Office reviews your application, an email will be sent to your student email indicating next steps. Click here to view more of your financial aid checklist.
