Lakeshore Technical College Swears Board Members In & Elects Officers

The Lakeshore Technical College Board of Trustees swore in two incumbent board members who began their next terms at the board’s annual organizational meeting July 8. Brauer will be sworn in at the August Board meeting. The Board of Trustees also elected officers for the next term.

The board members sworn in are Curt Brauer, Belinda Esquinas, and Dr. Mike Trimberger. Officers elected include John Wyatt, chair; Kim Rooney, vice chair; and Monica Nichter, secretary/treasurer.

Lakeshore has an appointed board consisting of nine members: two employer members, two employee members, three additional members, one elected official member who holds a state or local office, and one school district administrator. Three members are appointed to the Lakeshore Board of Trustees each year by a committee comprised of the county board chairs of the counties making up the Lakeshore district: Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Calumet, and Ozaukee. Terms for the three board members sworn in July 8 expire June 30, 2027.

Brauer has been reappointed as an employee member. He is a business representative for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 494. His role involves leading strategic planning efforts to communicate organizational priorities and mobilize stakeholders to advocate for labor-friendly legislation on the local, state and federal levels. He also serves as a Sheboygan County Board supervisor and is a member of Habitat Lakeside’s board of directors.

Belinda Esquinas is the Executive Director for The Crossing of Manitowoc County. The Crossing is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide educational, material, emotional, and spiritual support to parents, empowering them to become strong and resilient families. Esquinas responsibilities include administration, fundraising, community relations, client service, and staff supervision. She holds a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from the University of Cordoba, Spain. Esquinas serves as a Board member of the Manitowoc Noon Rotary and Pickleball Connection Club in Manitowoc.

Trimberger has been reappointed as a school district administrator member. He is the Random Lake School District superintendent, president and co-founder of INSPIRE Sheboygan County, and a member of the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce Business Education Partnership.
